Hi all, Anne here.
We Word Wenches are currently making plans for the blog in 2023, so let us know what you enjoy about the blog.
And if you have any suggestions, ideas, or thoughts about what you'd like more of in the blog, less of, new features, please make them.
I can't guarantee we'll follow them, but we will certainly seriously consider them.
Thank you.
I particularly enjoy your blogs where you tell us what all of you have been c reading. I often get ideas for what I want to read.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I really enjoy all of them. I hope you continue.

You all have been a life line and a bright spark of hope for me over the past 15 years! With you blogs, books, and marvelous historical research!
Thank you sooo much!
I have not always been able to read and access as I once did but I still appreciate and savor the existence of you each and the ways you share yourselves into the world!

Since you are looking for new ideas, this probably isn't the place to comment on how much I enjoy your blog. I think because you have numerous contributors you have a nice variety of subjects. I may not always feel inspired to comment, but I enjoy them all.
I will say that Ms. Gracie's pop quizzes are fun.

I'm particularly interested in plot ideas and how plausible novelty is generated in genres as established as romance. I would like to see the travel adventures and historical discussions linked more closely to plot ideas in a general way (avoiding spoilers). For example Christina has given quite a lot of background for her Viking stories and Anne has described enclosed gardens in London like her Bellaire Garden books. More along these lines please!
I like the Author interviews .... maybe some of my favorites cold be attracted .... Catherine Anderson, Mary Balogh .... invite readers to suggest two each?
"What we are reading" is also a favourite each month.

Thanks, Lucy. We're definitely continuing, though there might be some changes.

Thanks, Tai, much appreciated. If you subscribe to the blog, every post will be emailed to you, which might make access easier.

Thanks Mary, yes, we're talking about the variety of posts now. And I'm glad you enjoy my quizzes. I'm planning one for later this month.

Thank you Quantum — those are really helpful suggestions. The link between travel and research and plotting would definitely be something we could do more of.
We had Mary Balogh in some years back, but certainly it's time to have her return—she's an auto-buy for most of us here. I don't think we've had Catherine Anderson, except as a mention in What We're Reading. Which is a favorite with us all, so there's no danger of that going.
I just checked the Mary Balogh interview and it was in 2009, with Jo Beverley, so it's definitely time for another one. It's still a fascinating interview, though.

Yes, I do already. Thank you! The access limitations are on my own end. Really love your bride books and the Perfect Waltz!

I love the rabbit holes y'all report on. The historical background of your travels. Definitely What we are reading. Author interviews. Just the vast array of posts.
Definitely agree with Mary T, with so many authors writing there is a lovely cross section of topics. I truly do think that is one of the ways this blog has kept so fresh and new.
I'm always interested in posts of how the publishing industry is changing and how it impacts y'all as authors.
Because y'all write about your personal adventures and interests the blog feels more like a conversation between friends which I hope continues. I'll ponder if there is anything specific I want covered.

I can't think of anything I've disliked on the blog. I enjoy the sharing of your various researches, author interviews, details of your travels, the shared posts on suggested topics, and the monthly What We're Reading columns. I read a number of blogs; one of the things I really enjoy about the Word Wenches is the time you all take to interact with the readers here.

Thanks, Tai, lovely of you to say so.

Thanks, Vicki. We wenches also love the interactions of the wenchly community. The changing publishing industry is something that we'll definitely be talking about at some stage, as it affects us all differently. Thanks for your suggestions.

Thank you Kareni. We also love talking to the wenchly readers, and as I said above, the interactions between the whole wenchly community is something I think we all value.

Anne, many thanks for the link to the Mary Balogh interview. It is really interesting. Fascinating comments as well. This is definitely the cream of the romance blogs. I do hope she can find time to join us again!

Thank you, Quantum. Glad you enjoyed it. And yes, the quality of the reader commentaries on this blog is wonderful, I agree.
There is gold in the wenchly archives. Any time you're bored, I recommend you wander through them. They go back to the very beginning of this blog.

I especially like your forays into the particulars of daily life in earlier times. If you mention a book that I can look at to find out further information, that’s even better! I’m also a fan of the “what we are reading” blogs and Anne’s quizzes as well as the author interviews. I know this isn’t helping much because I’m mentioning things you already do!

Thank you, Linda. Don't worry, it's still helpful knowing what people like.
