Just in time for the holidays! It’s a Wonderful Regency Christmas , a collection of six Christmas stories by the late and much missed Word Wench, Edith Layton, has just been released.
Edith wrote many and varied wonderful stories, but she had a special gift for Christmas novellas. For the first time, these six novellas are available in one volume. The stories have been out of print for years, so this is a special treat for Layton Lovers and else who loves a warm, romantic holiday tale.
This collection includes the following stories:
The Duke’s Progress
It’s a Wonderful Christmas
The Gingerbread Man
The Last Gift
The Amiable Miser
Dogstar
I haven’t read Dogstar yet, but since Edith was a whole-hearted dog lover, I expect something really special!
I just reread the first story, The Duke's Progress, and it was as lovely as when I first read it on the initial release. A lonely and depressed duke, a winsome little boy, and the perfect woman to take dashing through the snow on a sleigh! What more can a sentimental lover of Christmas stories want?
It's available as an ebook for the first time and in paperback almost everywhere books are sold. Edith's daughter Susie Felber says fans have been asking for this for years, and she's delighted to publish the first Layton Christmas collection is here--so we readers can be delighted as well!
Mary Jo
PS: A surprise bonus! Susie Felber will give an e-book of IT'S A WONDERFUL REGENCY CHRISTMAS to one person who comments between now and Sunday midnight. Good luck!
Thank you for the heads up. I'm looking to see if I alfready have these. If I don't already own these, this is an automatic buy.

Sue--
In the annoying way of story collections, you may find that you have some of these but not all--Edith wrote a LOT of Christmas stories! Have fun searching through the books. *G*

Thanks for the "heads up." I currently have only one Christmas story by Ms. Layton (PEACHES AND THE QUEEN). Looking forward to some good reading.

As soon as I read this on my inbox, I went straight to Amazon. It is now loaded on my Kindle! I may have read some of these, but I won't know until I open them. It doesn't really matter anyway. Christmas stories don't lose their charm with rereading. Thank you for sharing this treasure!

It seems just like the right book for a little break between christmas preparations and end-of-year chaos at work.

This is such wonderful news, and I thank Susie Felber for the work it entailed bringing this about.
For more than several years now, I have been trying to acquire the stories from the wonderful old Christmas Regency collections in ebook. And I have been quite successful in getting many, i.e., Mary Jo's, Jo Beverley's, and Mary Balogh's. Some have still been impossible. So thank you again, Susie. And thank you for the generous giveaway opportunity.

Keira, isn't this great? I'm not sure how many Christmas novellas Edith wrote, but I think it was a lot. Maybe there will be a second collection some time in the future? We can hope!

Thanks Michelle! That is so kind of you to say. It has been hard work, but I keep trucking along while still working a full time job + family. But Mary Jo and the rest of the Wenches are so kind to help me spread the word to nice people like you! Merry everything, Susie
