It's Sunday and it's Edith, and Hello and a ho ho ho!
The HOLIDAY SEASON is upon us - and up, over and under us.
Friends, we are now getting roundly Holidayed! Betwixt the punch and the holly, the potato pancakes and the mistletoe, I figure no one is in the mood for musings of any great depth. (At least, I confess, I'm not.) So, a game!
Last week we did a little wishful thinking here about which books we'd like to see sequels to. Then Jo wondered whether anyone wanted to see books about the offspring of our favorite heros and heroines.
Now, since we're entering the magical season, I venture to ask if you're willing to go one more step into fantasy with me.
Thusly:
If you could, what book would you inhabit for the Holidays?
Would you like to be a character in the book, or there as yourself? And which one, or how?
Toss a little tinsel over your right shoulder, gulp down a few cups of wassail, and I think you'll get the hang of it.
As for me?
Easy.
The book: I'm deciding between THESE OLD SHADES and DEVIL'S CUB.
(I made up the game, I can cheat.)
The character: me! A wee bit transformed for the occasion. OK. A lot transformed. Dressed to the teeth at a gala masquerade in Eighteenth century Paris - and then one later in Regency London Town. With all of the Great Georgette's witty, dashing heroes dancing attention on me. Of course, I wouldn't be a Dowager. Or a dewy miss. And certainly not a wallflower. I'd be a dashing Incognito, with eyelashes a yard long, and a mysterious smile, and of course, a magnificent figure. I dream big.
Your turn.
(aw, go ahead. It's the Holidays. You can cheat too.)
