From Susan/Miranda:
At last I've gotten my author copies of DUCHESS, and I'd love to send a signed one out to a Wenchling. I'll draw one from the official Wench hat (black velvet, with gold lace and a white ostriche plume) on September 1 -- so if you've yet to add yourself to our list, please sign up NOW!
And a great big THANK YOU to all of you who've already supported DUCHESS. I just learned that the book has done so well in its first two weeks that it's already gone back to press. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Her Grace couldn't be more pleased. :)
And a fine, fine book it is!

What Nina said. I thought it was absolutely wonderful, and I loved the subtlety with which you indicated that Sarah was an unreliable narrator. *Of course* she wasn't going to see herself as...er...quarrelsome as history sees her. So the narrative couldn't show that overtly.
Anyway, love, love, love the book.

I was fortunate enough to find a copy at the NAL booksigning at RWA Nationals - and you better believe I grabbed it! What a treat for the long plane ride home - I loved every word. I'm already looking forward to Lady Castlemaine's story!

Thanks, y'all!
Katy -- I didn't have to do much of anything with Sarah. Her "voice" came through loud and clear, justifying every wrongful deed she'd done over the centuries. What a fascinating woman.
Kristian-- I have to confess that Lady Castlemaine is currently giving me fits. She's so....bad. :)
