From Mary Jo:
Just a quick note to say that on Wednesday morning, June 21st (tomorrow), I'll be doing a live interview on the Author's Exclusive show on the Voice of America radio network. (Whoops, I typed "newtwork," which conjured some interesting thoughts but doesn't fit here. <g>)
This is the first show by the interviewer, a friend of Jo Beverley named Solveig McLaren. This new internet radio show will focus on romance novels, especially those with paranormal elements. This first show will have me and Laurell K Hamilton. Elevated company!
My interview will start at 9:30 am EDT or a few minutes before. It will be repeated between 9:00 and 10:00 pm EDT the same day, and archived for thirteen weeks. All you have to do is go to www.voice.voiceamerica.com If your speakers are working, you'll hear whatever is being currently broadcast.
Solveig's website is: http://www.publicityworks.net/
I love her Scandanavian name--whenever I see it, I think of the Peer Gynt suite, which certainly has some lovely paranormal type music. <g>
Mary Jo, whistling Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Hall_of_the_Mountain_King )
Kudos to you, MJ! I will be listening from high up in my tree house.
Nina, thinking writing is allot more fun with WW's.com

from Susan (the Sarah one):
That's so cool, Mary Jo, congratulations!! I'd love to listen to you and Laurell Hamilton as well. You have a real gift for being articulate on these radio things, so I'm sure it was a great show. I missed the morning broadcast, but I'll try to catch it tonight. Do they archive these?
Solveig is a lovely name. The McLaren part isn't bad either. ;)

I will be in class for the first broadcast, but I hope to catch it on the repeat.
I just saw the news about a second paranormal collection from the Faery Magic combo on your website. How grand! I loved those stories. In fact, I reread them not long ago.

From Sherrie:
Those of you who have never heard Mary Jo speak are in for a real treat. She is articulate, knowledgeable, and so danged intelligent it'll scare you to death. (g)
I recently listened to an interview of her discussing one of her historical paranormal/fantasies and I was riveted. In fact, I played the interview twice. If you'd like to hear it, go to http://www.recordedbooks.com and click on "Direct to Consumer." Then do a search on Mary Jo Putney (be sure to change the keyword to "author.") Then click on "listen to an interview with Mary Jo Putney."

Oops! Typo above. The book Mary Jo talked about was The Wild Child, not one of her paranormals. This is a 1999 interview, and it is reallllllyyyy interesting!

Thanks Mary Jo for the heads up! I will definitely have to tune in. What a wonderful idea, I wonder if I can get it through feed for my web site(my mind is always turning, it astounds me sometimes).
Happy Writing,
Amber

From Mary Jo--
Susan Sarah, the interview is tomorrow, Wednesday morning, so it's not too late! Though the archiving for 13 weeks will probably be more convenient for a lot of people.
Wylene--not only are the original Faery Magic authors getting for this new dragon anthology, but Kensington is reissuing the original Faery Magic in September for those readers who missed it the first time around. I think we were a little ahead of the curve on the first anthology, so I expect a lot of people will enjoy having a chance to read it now.
Sherrie, I had no idea that the interview I did for Recorded Books was available online! THE WILD CHILD was my first book to be done in audio, so Recorded Books put me on a train to NYC so I could do the interview. It was fun--what author doesn't enjoy talking about the wonderfulness of her books?:)
Amber--I haven't the foggiest idea about technical questions, but good luck!

Mary Jo, I was just looking through the Things to Come section of the Science Fiction Book Club web page and saw that THE MARRIAGE SPELL is a future Alternate Selection.
Congratulations! -- The Mole

Just listened to Mary Jo's 1999 interview suggested by Sherrie in an above post. Thank you Sherrie for the suggestion.
The interview was fantastic! Lots of good stuff for reader and writer alike. Including where all those cats her heroines keep finding are coming from. They’re real, don't ya know!

Mary Jo, we moles live to procure information.
I know a number of authors who have had books selected by book clubs, and they NEVER seem to know about it until I tell them!
