If I was a fling kind of girl I would get it on with Jo's Marquess of Rothgar. He is very intense and focused and I doubt we would see the light of day if we had a weekend together. *L* 2nd in line would be Mary Jo's Nicholas Davies from Thunder and Roses. I guess I like them dark and broody. As for marriage. I can think of no one but my own HEA. He is my perfect match. Thanks for the fun question! :)

NancyS.Goodman

I think I agree with all of your first choices. especially Gryff, and Adrian. Fun post!

Polly McCrillis

I'm not much a fling type (won't my husband be happy to hear that!)but even before wedding bell day I wasn't much of a fling-taker. A perfect hero, rather a perfect FICTIONAL hero is kind, confident but not arrogant, witty and a good listener. And I wouldn't spurn excellence in kissing if he just so happened to have that attribute!
I've read books written by each of the Word Wenches and can't think of a one where the hero wasn't a "keeper". Thanks for a great post, and question!

Barbara Elness

Like Mary Jo, I like the witty ones as well. So I think Lord Robert Andreville, the hero of Angel Rogue would be my hero for life. Witty, easygoing, and never without a quip, even when things are going sidewise. And under his insouciant charm, he’s brave and utterly reliable. That's my idea of a perfect romance hero.

Pat's Wyckerly from Wicked Wyckerly who's a great deal of fun, but a little more extroverted and willing to take risks. Sounds like a great man for a fling. :D

What an interesting question. For a fling, there is no doubt--- Reggie Davenport. he is a character with a great deal of mastery and love of the physical--fencing, riding, swimming, working in the fields. (from MJP's the Rake) The For marriage, Race de Vere from Jo Beverly's Hazard-because he's worldly, has a sense of humor, and intellectual. Were I musical,it would be Richard Davenport from The Diabolical Baron. Funny how hard it was for me to identify a character "for life". With all the HEAs written, and the depth of involvement I have when reading, I would have thought that I would have a fantasy husband who would come immediately to mind. (I didn't have to think about the fling question for longer than 2 seconds, but of course, the Rake is my favorite romance.) I am happily married. While my husband and I have different intellectual interests, there is something about the way we think, and pursue those interests, something about our habits of mind that connects us.

I thought about this question when I got my new kindle and had to pick a name for it. My old one was named after Mr. Darcy. For the new one, I chose Brand for Brand Malloren of Jo's Secrets of the Night. He's kind, strong, forgiving, protective, more interested in home life than partying and his heroine is not a perfect beauty. I did kind of wish he had a more exciting name, though.

Jo Beverley

Interesting views, everyone.

I'm honored that you've named your Kindle Brand, Julie. You don't think it's exciting? Like firebrand? It's an Anglo Saxon noble name, like all the other Mallorens.

Cheers,

Jo

I almost hit 'submit' after I typed that because I think he speaks volumes, but honestly, I fell a little bit in love with him in his first scene. I laughed though the whole thing and knew I could have a lot of fun with him. But I fell a lot in love with him as the book progressed and his real nature came out. He'd be such a keeper for me. He loves completely, would never stray and put Prudence and her everything above anything else. As it should be.

Ella Quinn

Fun question, but I agree that it's a hard one as well. All my heroes have a chunck of my husband in them. He was certifiable rogue before we got together. I think I'll just keep him.

Crystal Bromke Woodmancy

I think that my Hero would be good for life if he continues to be my hero, otherwise a fling would be best. If can't be a HERO all the time, then its best if he moves on and breaks my heart once, rather than continuously.

joanna bourne

I'm going to second so many of these.

I feel quite naughty.

Jo Banks

Oh what a question I agree with most of the above but would rather have Grey than Adrian from The Spymaster's lady he had it all!!But then again Tris from Jo's St Raven is another lovely one!But maybe he brought out the maternal in me I just wanted it to come right for him !I think I fall alittle in love with all the good heroes there are a few who need a good kick and I 'm thinking the heroine must be mad to trust her life to him.So on the whole I think I shall keep to my own even if he does occassionally also need a kick he is lovely with it !

Karin

There are so many great heroes in all of the Wenches' books, but I agree with Joanna that Doyle is the man for the long haul. I have such a crush on him! And for a fling, Cyn Malloren. He's full of fun, imaginative and spontaneous, but I don't think I'd want to move to the wilds of Canada in the 18th century.

Essie

Robin and his brother are the ones for me Angel Rouge was one of the best books, for every reason you can name .Romance ,mystery, action and most of humor.I Really did not want either one to end his brother was also right on the same line.
