Oh, I envy all of you your travels! One of these days I hope to be making all of these conferences and workshops!

I had such a great time in New York and got to spend time with Jo, Mary Jo, Cara, Anne and Joanna at different events. The trip to the Lady Jane Salon was memorable - my first New York subway ride!

I was fortunate enough to see Nicola (and her darling hubby) at the RWA conference in DC a few years ago. Missed you in New York, Nicola. And your Scotland research trip is making me madly jealous!

This weekend will consist of two writing days with a work day in the middle. I am off today, work tomorrow and off Sunday. Tomorrow will be a whirl of Halloween cupcakes, football team cookie cakes and cakes, cakes and more cakes! The holiday season has begun at the bakery and won't slow down until after Easter!

Anne Gracie

I love that photo of Nicola staring out to sea. So romantic and intriguing. Like the start of a novel -- Susanna Kearsley, perhaps, since the clothes aren't historical.

Andrea hope your workshop goes well. I'm sure it will -- you are always so well prepared and organised and thoughtful. Make sure you have a fun night out afterward. I'm envious of your company.

Louisa, it was great to meet you face to face in New York, too, as well as catching up with some of the other wenches and meeting new people and old friends. It's a fun thing about conferences, meeting people you've only met on line.

I'm off to Seattle (from Michigan) on Thursday for the Emerald City Writer's Conference. This will be my second year. I had a ball at the first one and imagine this year will be just as grand.

Though I'd really rather it was Scotland...

Jenny

I'm envious of you all. I'm spending a really boring weekend trying to finish my income tax return, and I would rather be anywhere but at my computer. The nearest I will get to travelling will be to the newsagent to buy the newspaper! But after that? I will have to start planning.

Cara Elliott/Andrea Penrose

Soory, everyone, I've been away from computer access until now, but am happy to report that I make it through my presentation without stumbling too badly, (thanks, for the pep talk, Anne!) and had a blast hanging out with friends (though sadly, Tasha Alexander was felled by a terrible sore throat and had to cancel her trip at the last moment)

Cara Elliott/Andrea Penrose

Theo, I've heard that's a really great conference, so j hope you enjoy it! And Jenny, sympathies on the tax returns—definitely ranks up there with root canals! Hope you curled up with a good book at the end of the day to reward yourself.

Hope Stephan

Cara, I wish I had read your post before the NJRW conference rather than after (but I was too busy getting ready to go). I thought your workshop was fabulous and you didn't seem a bit nervous.
